Donald Rdell Halverson was born on March 31, 1924 in Grant County, North Dakota to Ebert H. Halverson and Carrie (Hanson) Halverson. He passed away on February 7, 2012 following a short illness. He graduated from McIntosh High School in 1942 where he was voted as the boy most likely to succeed. He served in WWII with the Army Air Force and his favorite quote was “Variety is the Spice of Life”.

He had a love of flying and became a Captain at TWA retiring after 31 years of service. He loved airplanes, motorcycles, boats and trucks. He had resided in the Anaheim/Santa Ana area for 40 years.

His love of flying included his military service, his 31 years at TWA and his love of light aircraft. He never lost his fascination with big machines that go places. He described himself as a retired captain, hobby trucker, motorcycle bum, light plane enthusiast, mechanic, carpenter, plumber, electrician, gardener and pool player.

To his family and friends who knew him best, he will be remembered as an exceptional person and he will be missed by all .

A memorial service will be held at the Walnut Village Chapel in Anaheim on Friday, February 10th. A private family ceremony will be held on Monday, February 13th followed by interment at Bellevue Mausoleum, Ontario, California.
