George Bartholomew's Death
The remains of George Bartholomew were brought here from Minneapolis, on Saturday evening, and the funeral held from the Baptist church Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. Chas. Firth conducting the service.
For many years Mr. Bartholomew was a resident of West Concord, removing from here to Minneapolis several years ago.
Geo. S. Bartholomew born Sept. 4, 1843, at Sterling Run, Cameron Co., Penn. Came to Minnesota in 1857. He joined the Federal Army Jan. 28, 1862 having enlisted in the 5th Minnesota Regiment, Co. H., and served until Aug. 19, 1865, when he was honorably discharged. He was married March 8, 1866 to Elsie Burfield. Six children were born to them, four daughters and two sons, one son having died in infancy. He is survived by a wife and five children, Eliza McCormick, of Minneapolis; Minnie Schlief, of West Concord; Robert Bartholomew, of Ellington; Inez Parkins and Alzada Parkins, both of Minneapolis and 23 grand children.
