Henry F. Stoewer, 84, of Galena, died Tuesday evening Feb. 11, in the Galena Hospital. Born December 17, 1890 in Galena, he was the son of the late Karl and Wilhelmina Hoelting Stoewer, and was a life long resident of Galena. He was united in marriage to Sarah Richards in Galena on January 9, 1923, and was employed as a carpenter and foundry man for many years before his retirement.

Survivors include his widow, Sarah, one son, William of Moline, six grandchildren, and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, one sister, and a daughter, Mrs. Doris Nichols.

Services were held at 11 A.M. Saturday, February 15, in the Steinke Funeral Home with the Rev. R.W. Heilener, pastor of St. Mathew Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery. Casket bearers were LaVerne Greene, David Foecking, James Montgomery, Robert Oldenberg, Harold Shellhorn, and Robert Trainor. Steinke Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
