Funeral services will be held at noon, Wednesday, Aug. 1, at Faith Lutheran Church, 1611 41st St., Moline, with visitation one hour prior to services. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Galena, Ill., at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 2. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Faith Lutheran Church, 1611 41st St., Moline, IL 61265; or Gustavus Adolphus Lutheran Church, 1509 27th Ave. N.E., Minneapolis, MN 55418. Miller & Steinke Funeral Home, Galena, is in charge of arrangements.
She was preceded in death by husband of 61 years, William "Bill," and her brother, Charles. She is survived by son, Greg (Mary) and children, Yiyuan, Lai Xin; and son, Jon (Cindy) and children, Alex and Rachel; as well as brother-in-law, Red, and his four daughters, Maine; and sister-in-law, Anastasia and her daughter, Chicago.
Faye was a caring, loving mother and grandmother. She grew up in Chicago, raised family in Moline and recently moved to Roseville. Her education included a master's degree in library science.
Faye brought music and arts into our family. Faye played bass violin at polkas and was an inaugural member of the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestras. She sang in the Handel Oratorio Society's Messiah, Rock Island, and North Suburban Chorus, Roseville. She was a librarian (fine arts, science and technology) at the Rock Island Library and a volunteer at the Putnam Museum, Davenport. Faye and Bill were frequent travelers to Mexico and Europe. They wintered in Tempe, Ariz., for 30 years.
