Gwendolyn H. Larson, 82, of Kandiyohi, died Saturday September 20 at Rice Memorial Hospital, in Willmar. Funeral service will be at 11 am Thursday at Faith Lutheran Church, in Spicer. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Wednesday at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home, in Willmar and continue one hour prior to the service at church. Burial is at Cloverleaf Cemetery, in Willmar. Arrangements are with Harvey Anderson Funeral Home, in Willmar.
Gwendolyn Hope Larson was born to Archie and Stella (Aaby) Latterell on February 26, 1932 on the family farm in Kandiyohi. She was baptized and confirmed at Faith Lutheran Church, in Spicer. Growing up she lived on a dairy farm, helping with all aspects. She attended country school before graduating from Willmar High School in 1950. Gwen married Charles Earl “Bud” Larson at the Green Lake Bible Camp chapel in 1967. They moved to the Larson family farm after marriage. Together they became the third generation and were awarded with the Century Farm recognition. Gwen enjoyed tending to dairy cows, crops, flowers and vegetables, and doing genealogy research on her family. She also enjoyed watching her Minnesota Twins and Vikings.
Gwen is survived by her children: Dean Larson of Kandiyohi, Dianne (Jon) Benton of Chaska; grandchildren: Sam and Spencer Benton. She is also survived by her sisters: Joyce (Don) Jensen, Beverly Johnson-Zupon, sister-in-law: Marjorie Isaac-Webber, and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Earl “Bud” Larson, parents, and brother: Alton Latterell.
