Born and educated in Waterford, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret Coffey McLinden.
Donna had been employed for 20 years at the state Department of Taxation & Finance. She also worked for four years as a bus monitor for the Shenendehowa School District and for 15 years at Ted's Fish Fry in Troy.
A communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Waterford, she was a member and past president of St. Mary's Altar Society and immediate past president of the St. Vincent de Paul Society. She was a member of the Columbiettes and a volunteer with the Meals on Wheels Program, as well as the local food pantry.
Donna had also been a den mother for many years with Cub Scout Pack 632.
She enjoyed summers at Schroon Lake and camping on the Schroon River with her husband, family and many friends. She loved to help people and saw only the best in everyone.
She is survived by her devoted husband Leo J. Charpentier and her beloved children Leo 'Skip' Charpentier (Kim) of Melrose, Christopher Charpentier and Margaret Clark (Joseph) of Waterford. She was predeceased by her brother William Anthony McLinden. Also surviving are her beloved grandchildren Jennifer Barr and Chelsey Charpentier; her greatgrandson Robert Leo Hancox; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 9 a.m. from the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Route 32) in Waterford, and at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary of the Assumption Church. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Waterford
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m.
Those who wish may make contributions to St. Mary's Altar Society or St. Vincent de Paul Society in care of the funeral home office.
