James Baird was born in Co. Antrim, Ireland. He married on May 16 1837, Cliphan Cairns, who was from Scotland. After they had immigrated to Canada they had two children, James and Mary Ann/Emily, both born in Hinchinbrooke. James died in 1888 in Hinchinbrooke at the age of 79 years.
