Marian Greiner, 63, of 3651 W. Greiner Road, died Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2002, at the Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis.
She was born May 20, 1939, in Liberty, Ind., one of four children of William and Helen Logan Howard. On Oct 20,1963, she was married to James Greiner, who survives.
She graduated from Short High School in 1957 and was a graduate from cosmetology school working at Vogue Beauty Salon in Richmond, Ind. In addition to her career as a hairdresser, she operated a pet shop in Connersville for several years and, along with her husband, she founded and continued to operate Shawn-Ran Kennels in Connersville. Her passion was caring for her family, first as a wife and mother, and later as a grandmother.
Survivors beside her husband include three children. Randy Greiner and wife Ginny, Shawn Greiner and wife Wakako, all of Connersville, Loree Crowe and husband Rich of Indianapolis; six grandchildren, Kalin, Kenley and Carmen Greiner, Takeshi Shawn Greiner, Nicholas and Mason Crowe; two brothers, Jim Howard of St. Leon, Ind., and Dick Howard of Liberty; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Jane Ritter, and her parents.
