BIRTH: newspaper clipping. Mr. and Mrs. Beckettte are parents of son. Mr. and Mrs. C.E. Beckette announce the birth of a son Clarence Ezra Beckette, Jr. on December 14, 1936, at their home on Glaize Avenue. written 1936 Winchester. Sonny was born 12:55pm on 12/14/1936

He was called Jr. when he was young. He used the nickname Sonny most of his later life. Per Family Bible, when age 7 (Mar 1944) he had chicken pox (along with James and Rebecca). Jr had whooping cough in 45 or 46. Jr had measles in 47 or 48. He lived for years at Foxcroft Lane in Essex MD but in 1998 sold his home and moved to WV.

OBIT: On August 7, 1966, Rev. Clarence Ezra Sr., beloved husband of Mary Elizabeth (nee Baugh), devoted father of Clarence Jr., James D., Rebecca R. Williams, Glenn M., Rosemary Christou, and Thomas E. Beckette. Also survived by 7 grandchildren. Services at Charles S. Zeiler and Son, Inc., 6224 Eastern avenue on Wednesday at 11am. Interment in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.

Clarence Ezra Beckette Sr. and Mary Elizabeth (Baugh) was born Dec. 14, 1936 in Winchester VA and died in Martinsburg, WV. He was a Vietnam War Era Veteran. He was descended from 16 American Revolutionary Patriots named Alexander Anderson, William Anderson, Joel Arthur, John Arthur, Richard Beckett, Benjamin Berry, David Berry, Richard Crosby, Amos Evans, William Hill, Gasper Moyers, John Peden, Thomas Roberts, Evan Thomas, and William Williams. Through his Evans ancestry, he is descended from the Princes of Wales and Kings of England. He was the beloved husband of the late Eleanor Virginia Beckette who predeceased him on July 18, 2003 after 43 years of marriage. He was the devoted father of James Vincent Beckette and his wife Linda, Laura Ann Harry and her husband Robert, and David Lee Beckette and his wife Lenora, devoted grandfather of Haley Michele Beckette and Heather Nicole Carnes, great grandfather of Riley Hawk Carlyle. He was brother of Ruth who predeceased him and James D. Beckette, Rebecca R. Williams, Glenn M. Beckette, Rosemary Christou, and Thomas E. Beckette; brother-in-law of Susan Edwards and her husband Stu; dear friend of Nelson Dunahugh. He was the loving uncle of 16 nephews and 8 nieces. He owned a phone card service sales company. He served in the U.S Air Force. He is survived by three children, James V. Beckette, Laura A. Harry and David L. Beckette; two sisters, Rebecca and Rosemary; three brothers, James, Thomas and Glenn; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Burgee-Henss-Seitz Funeral Home, Baltimore. Burial will be in Holly Hill Memorial Gardens.
