SYDNEY, Wednesday.
Sarah Ann Alderson, aged 6, of Victoria road, Erskineville, died at the Royal Alexandria Hospital, Camperdown, from the effects of burns. The little child was playing in a paddock opposite her home with other children at 10 a.m. on Sunday, when a boy put some papers in a tin and lit them. The flames caught the girl's dress, and burnt most of her clothing. A man tore the rest of them 'off her, but not before she had been severely burnt on the left side of the body. She was taken to the hospital shortly afterwards, but gradually sank, and died.
