David Lee Rice, 73, born in Findlay, OH on July 16, 1941, passed into the arms of Jesus on October 7, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. Dave attended Arlington Local Schools; he owned and operated Rice's Auto Salvage for over 40 years. He was a former owner of Millstream Motor Speedway and a talented hobby stock and late model racer in the 1960s. Dave was known as a handsome, generous man with notable strength and character. He delighted in his children and grandchildren and will be remembered for not only his generosity and kindness, but also his selfless love and devotion to his family. He loved watching his grandchildren participate in sporting events and horse shows. He also enjoyed restoring antique cars and coffee with his many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, O. Allen and Grace (Roberts) Rice; grandson, Danny Warner III; and siblings, Theodore; Benard; Barbara Ann; Addie Mae; Larry; Betty Jo; Kimberly and Randy. He is survived by his wife, Margaret (Rader) Rice; children, Lynn (Dan) Warner; David Allen (Kris) Rice; James Rice; Mychelle (Jason) Dukes and Holly (Keith) Gartner; step-children, Mark Rader; Diana (Duane) Aukerman; Janet (Ben) Marroquin; and Darlene Regis; grandchildren, Nathan (Amber) Rice; Nicki (David) Snoke; Allen and Dusty Warner; Austin; Allie Lee; Jacob and Aubrey Dukes and Coleman David Gartner; great-grandchildren, Hannah and Evan and his siblings: Carl, Jay, Ann, Gary, Doug, Eddie and Danny. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the ICU staff at the Ohio State University Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, October 11, 2014 at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, with Pastor Shane Helms officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Findlay. Visitation will be from 2:00-4:00 PM and 6:00-8:00 PM Friday at the funeral home.
