Obituary Number 1:

Funeral service for Deward Gipson, 23, will be held Saturday (January 21, 1956) at 2:00 p.m. at the Hackett High School auditorium.

Officiating will be the Rev. Delose Crease. Burial will be in the Dawson Memorial Cemetery directed by McConnell Funeral home at Hartford.

Pallbearers will be William McBride, Bernard Hamby, Bill Farr, Billy Needham, Benny Spradley, and Jimmy Lanier.

Mr. Gipson died Tuesday, January 17, 1956, at a Little Rock hospital.

Deward Gipson, 23, died Tuesday (January 17, 1956) at a Little Rock hospital following a short illness. He was a member of the Baptist church.

Survivors include his wife, Lucille Brisco Gipson; one son, Justin Dale, of the home, one daughter, Dewaynia of the home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Morris Gipson of Hackett; three brothers, Willard, and Arel, both of Greenwood, and Paul of Hayward, Calif.; six sisters, Mrs. Ray Winfield of Charleston, Mrs. Willie Davis of Cameron, Okla., Mrs. Clarence Horton and Mrs. Eula Farrar, both of Van Buren, Mrs. Oscar Barnes of Farwell, Texas, and Mrs. Bill Wright of Fort Smith.
