BARLOW, Ky. , March 29 - W. E. Abell, 82, of Barlow died at Pipers Center Care Home in La Center at 6:50 p.m. Tuesday. He was a member of Barlow Baptist Church, where he had served as deacon for many years. For 35 years Mr. Abell had operated his own insurance agency at Wickliffe until ill health forced him to retire two years ago.
Mr. Abell was a member of Hazelwood Lodge F&AM and of Barlow Chapter No. 230 of the Order of the Eastern Star.
He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Alberta Rasco of Barlow Rt. 1, Mrs. Martha Eidson of Knoxville, Tenn., Mrs. Carolyn Lane of Wickliffe, and Mrs. Mary Hetherington of St. Louis, Mo.; a brother, Lyman Abell of Paducah; a sister, Mrs. Jeanette Blake of Tarpon Springs, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at Barlow Baptist Church at 3 p.m. Thursday. The Rev. Tom Camp and the Rev. James Wright will officiate. Burial will be in Oscar Cemetery.
