Wayne A. Baker, 87, of Fort Wayne, passed away Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at Coventry Meadows. He was born March 20, 1927 in Adams County to the late Clyde Allen and Mary Virginia (Reinhard) Baker. He was WW II, U. S. Navy Veteran who served on the U. S. Telamon off the Bikini Islands. He worked as a welder at NIPSCO and was a member of the Southwest Conservation Club. He enjoyed many different activities, but his favorite pastime was fishing. Surviving are his wife, Mary M. (Landis) Baker of Fort Wayne; children, David (Nanette) Baker, Mark Baker, and Barbara (Keith) Anderson, all of Fort Wayne; sisters, Lois (Robert) Reighter of Fort Wayne, Joan (Bob) Cramer of Grove Port, OH, and Ruby (Richard) Brinkman of Monroeville, IN; grandchildren, Brandy Patterson, Benjamin Baker, Megan Whatton, Tyler Baker, and Lance Cpl. Jericha Faulkner, USMC; four great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his son, Terry Lee Baker. A memorial service will be held Sunday, October 12, 2014 at 3:00 pm at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home For Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne IN 46809 with visitation 2 hours prior. Burial will be at Highland Park. Preferred memorials may be made to the Glenhaven Youth Ranch, Plainview, Ark.
