He was born Aug. 19, 1894 in Bloomington, a son of Charles and Louise Kranz Adams. He married Blanche L.Woods Dec. 13, 1940 at St. Louis, Mo. She died Dec. 5, 1971.
Surviving are three sons, Lloyd, Downers Grove; Herbert, Spokane, Richard Ash, Pekin; a daughter, Mrs. Lavina Hancock, Pekin; three brothers, Raymond, Hannibal, Clark Middleton, Edward, Fresno, two sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Caverley, Decatur; Miss Helen Doty, Fresno, 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
A daughter, a son and a brother also preceded him in death.
He was a member of Faith Baptist Church, the Men's Bible Class and the Empire Masonic Lodge, of which he had been a member.
He served in World War I.
He last operated a service station in Pekin and retired in January, 1960.
