Mrs. Dunigan was a homemaker and member of New Salem Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting for a number of years; she loved gardening, particularly growing flowers. She was a devoted wife, mother and avid church member.
Mrs. Dunigan is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Linard E. Dunigan; three brothers, Harold, Alton and Melvin Applewhite; two sisters, Hilda Applewhite and Norma Rae Applewhite; one grandson, Tristan Dunigan; and one great-grandson.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda Bryan (Dale) of McCall Creek and Norma Finnegan (Robert) of Florence, MS; two sons, Ralph Dunigan (Pat) of Easley, SC and Ronald Dunigan (Carolyn) of Riverview, FL; three sisters, Marinell Applewhite and Carolyn Smith, both of Brookhaven and Helen Ketteringhan of Pearl, MS; two brothers, Donald Applewhite (Frankie) of McCall Creek and Glen Applewhite (Peggy) of Brookhaven, MS; and numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held Friday, October 10, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. at New Salem Baptist Church cemetery at McCall Creek.
Visitation will be on Friday, October 10 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Brookhaven Funeral Home, 894 Natchez Drive, Brookhaven.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Multiple Sclerosis Foundation of Mississippi.
