She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Snell, Jr. in 1997.
She was born September 24, 1922 in Dayton to Carl and Mildred (Shaner) Balonier who also preceded her in death. She is survived by three daughters: Joyce A. Blackburn of AZ, Jill E. Bottorff of Xenia and Patti J. Kemper of Springboro as well as one son, James T. (Lynn) Snell of UT. Five grandchildren also survive her: Jerry (Beth) Butts, Joe (Kelly) Butts, Kellie (Lonnie) Carter, Jeremy (Lori) Bottorff and Kevin Kemper, as do fifteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Other survivors include her sister, Joan and husband Robert "Buck" Bockrath of Dayton, sister-in-law, Marilyn Snell of Beavercreek, one niece, six nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Rita worked at Rike's Department Store, retiring from there after many years of service.
Friends may call at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME - Beavercreek Chapel, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Rd. at Grange Hall Rd. on Saturday, April 13 from 6-7 PM. A memorial service will be held at the funeral home at 7 PM Saturday evening.
