Marcia L. Kincaid Johnson, along with her husband Paul and friends Bill and Betty Roach, died in a plane crash in Branson, MO after taking off from the airport at College of the Ozarks in a small private aircraft. They were returning to Lubbock, TX after a short visit to Branson.

Marcia was born to Joe Merl Kincaid and Eva Todd Kincaid. She graduated salutatorian from Crowell High School, and Plan 2 from the University of Texas with a degree in Journalism. She married Paul Warren Johnson on June 2, 1958.

She was a reporter for the Corpus Christi Caller Times. She later worked as a Librarian in Dallas, while Paul was in dental school. She wrote the bulletin for Sunset Church of Christ for ten years, and wrote feature articles for the bulletin at Broadway Church of Christ.

Marcia was a member of the Junior League of Lubbock, Gamma Phi Beta, Achievement Rewards for College Scientists, The Lubbock Women's Club, PEO, past president of the Women's Council at Texas Tech Museum, and the Lubbock Symphony Guild.

Marcia and Paul are survived by their children, Dr. Paul Gregory Johnson, Mary Frances Johnson Leonard, and Dr. Andrew Kincaid Johnson. Their children's spouses are Sharon Johnson, John Leonard, and Charlene Johnson. Grandchildren are John Paul Leonard, Sarah Elise Leonard, Rachel Nicole Johnson, CayteLynn May Johnson, and Erika Grace Johnson. Marcia is also survived by cousin, Jo Ann Anthony; brother, Robert Kincaid; and sister, Fran Coker.

Services for Paul and Marcia Johnson were held at the Broadway Church of Christ in Lubbock. Memorials may be sent to the Children's Home of Lubbock, P.O. Box 2824, Lubbock, TX 79408.
