Nancy Lee Propper, 69, of Connersville, died Saturday morning, February 20, 2010 at the Ambassador Health Care Center in Centerville, where she had been a resident the last five years.

She was born January 9, 1941 in Connersville, the only child of Donald Russell and Nina Ruf Russell Wingate. She attended the Connersville schools and graduated from the Connersville High School and attended Butler University in Indianapolis.

Following her studies, her career led her to a law firm in Chicago, where she worked as a file clerk, later moving to California, followed by her move to New York City and finally returning to Connersville for residence.

Nancy enjoyed acrylic painting, embroidering, reading and writing in her leisure.

She was baptized in the Church of Christ as a teenager and later as an adult attended the former United Methodist Church in Everton.

Survivors include an aunt, Geneva Rowland of Connersville, an aunt and uncle, Lester Ruf and wife Pat, of Laurel; and aunt and uncle, Dotta and Jerry Masters of Metamora, Indiana; and several cousins: Mark Brockman, Sandy Frye, Glen Rowland, Brad Ruf, Ritchie Hodgin, Teresa Meyers, Kent Ruf, Roger Ruf, Jim Baker and Leo Baker.

Besides her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her step-father, Ralph Wingate and a cousin, Robin Brockman.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 PM on Monday, February 23, 2010 at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Laurel North Cemetery. Friends may call today from 1 PM until the time of services.

Memorial contributions may be made in care of the funeral home to the Dunn Mental Health Center Resident's Activity Fund.
