Christian Scientist services will be held Friday at Ballhorn Funeral Chapels for Albert W. Kuether, 85, proprietor of Kuether Photography Studio for 49 years.
Wilbert Grams of the First Church of Christ, Scientist, will conduct the service. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery.
Mr. Kuether who lived at Bethany Manor since May 1968 died there Tuesday.
Born in Deerfield April 9, 1884, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Fredrich Kuether, he came to Sheboygan in 1888 and attended Bethlehem and Longfellow schools.
In addition of his photography work, Mr. Kuether served on the Common Council from 1918–28, was a member of the County Board in 1917, and an original member of the City Park Board in 1916. In 1903 he began his professional career in the photography studios of his brother-in-law, G. C. Glaeser. After four years training, he opened his own business in partnership with the late Conrad Von Wald on the 1200 block of N. 8th Street. In 1910 he moved the studio to the southeast corner of the N. 8th Street and St. Clair Avenue intersection, where he remained until retirement in 1956.
He married the former Ella Zimbal, April 24, 1909, in Sheboygan. She died March 21, 1967.
Mr. Kuether was a former member of the Elks Lodge and a charter member of Optimist Club, in which he served for over 40 years.
Survivors include three sons, Albert of Sheboygan, Kenneth of New Berlin and Milton of Kiel; 11 grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
