Funeral services for Earl J. Ward, 77, who died at Reece hospital, Gardner, Sunday, were held from the Bruce chapel yesterday, (Wednesday) afternoon, followed by burial in Pleasant Valley cemetery. Elmer Breckenridge officiated.

Mr. Ward was born at Stanley, and had farmed all his life in the Stanley and Olathe communities until about twenty years ago.

He leaves two son, Wilfred Ward, Long Beach, Calif.; Russell Ward, Osawatomie, Kas.; a sister, Mrs. Pearl Sharp, Gardner; a brother, William Ward, Los Angeles, and two grandchildren.

Mrs. Charles Knabe and Mrs. Lyle Hertzler sang "In the Garden and "Beyond the Sunset". Miss Mildred Bigelow was organist.

Pallbearers were Wayne Hansen, George Arington, Darrell Sharp, Tom Sharp, Bob Ward and Francis Jones.

Bruce Funeral Home, Gardner, in charge of arrangements.
