Violet F. Darrah, 87, of Mountain Home, Ark., formerly of Bartonville, died Thursday, July 18, 1996, at Gassville Nursing Center in Gassville, Ark.

Born Oct. 16, 1908, in LaHarpe to Silus [sic] Freeman and Ella Pearl Perry Allen, she married Fred S. Darrah on March 13, 1954, in Lewistown. He died May 27, 1982, in Peoria.

Three brothers and two sisters also preceded her in death.

Surviving is one son, Fred Allen of Bartonville; one stepson, Royce Darrah of Galesburg; two stepdaughters, Donna McIntyre and Betty Weisner, both of Chillicothe; two sisters, Mary Gilmore of LaHarpe and Dora Gooden of Blandinsville; one granddaughter; and one great-granddaughter.

She worked for the former Ideal Troy on Main Street in Peoria, where she worked on a finish press.

She was a member of Berea Baptist Church in Bartonville.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel. The Rev. Kenneth Linder will officiate.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the chapel.

Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens, Peoria.

Memorials may be made to her church.
