He was born April 29, 1927, in Sandtown (Cushman), Ark., to Robert P. Allgood and Mary M (nee Van Winkle) Allgood.
Cecil entered the U.S. Army during the final days of World War II, and served honorably as part of the Occupational Forces of Japan. Cecil moved to Port Charlotte in 1981.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Carol Jean Fair Allgood of Port Charlotte; sons, Larry (Jeanne ) Allgood of Sharpsburg, Ga., Michael Allgood of Port Charlotte, and David (Denise) Allgood of Fort Myers, Fla.; brother, James (Maria) Allgood; grandchildren, Ryan (Kristine) Allgood, Sara (nee Allgood) (Sothorn) Khel, Heather Allgood and Austin Ball; great-grandchildren, Donovan Allgood, Emma and Sophia Allgood, and Liam Khel; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Sherman, Herman, Otto and Noah; and sisters, Rethia Daniel, and Alzora Holloway.
Burial will be at a future date at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Cushman.
