ADAIR, TAYSEE LEWIS, Age 97, died Saturday, March 18th, 2006 at 6:45 a.m. at the Golden Acres Campus in Dallas. Mr. Adair was born August 2,1908 in Saltillo, Texas to John and Mattie Smith Adair. On December 7, 1930, Taysee and Lucille Linker were married in the home of her parents in Mahoney, Texas. Her brother-in-law, Rev. Aubrey Dennis, performed the ceremony. During the early years of their marriage, they lived in the Old Saltillo community, moving to Dallas in the early 1940's. They moved to a new home in Garland in 1957. Taysee and Lucille enjoyed 68 years of marriage. Lucille preceded him in death on November 29, 1998. Mr. Adair retired from Sterling Drug Company in 1973 and enjoyed his hobbies that included traveling, restoring antique clocks, woodworking, and growing flowers in his green house and yard. He and Lucille were members of the Central Church of the Nazarene in Dallas. Taysee was preceded in death by two brothers, Jessie W. Adair and Dencie Lee Adair, two sisters, Mrs. Lela McClung and Mrs. Bertie Bryant; and two nieces Bennie Murl Dolvin and Lexie Patrick; and one nephew Clovis Adair. He is survived by two nieces, Glena Knotts of Winnsboro, and Martha Black of Scoggins and three nephews, Melvin McClung and John Wayne McClung of Mount Vernon, and Grady Adair of Saltillo. Survivors also include Algerine Jordan, Sulphur Springs; Billie Coleman, Garland; Leon Dennis, Irving; Jerry Linker, Mesquite; Merikay Hawkins, Texarkana; Thomas Davis, Sulphur Springs; and Vivian Dennis-Monzingo, Garland; nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are Louis Agee, John Wayne McClung, Kenneth Patrick, Darwin McGill, Larry Black, and J. L. Sustaire. Honorary Pallbearers are Bobby Conley, Bobby Goswick and H. H. "Cotton" Miller. Services will be at 3:00 p.m. Monday, March 20, 2006 at the Old Saltillo United Methodist Church, Saltillo, Texas. Interment will follow in the Old Saltillo Cemetery. Sam B.
