He was born May 16, 1915, at Nezperce to Fred and Mary A. Fuchs Rainville. He went to school at Nezperce and also attended Holy Family Catholic School at Clarkston.

He married Bernita L. Geboe Nov. 17, 1938, at Lewiston and worked for Potlatch at Lewiston from 1937 to 1978.

He was a member of Clarkston Moose Lodge since 1949, serving as governor of the lodge in 1955 and 1956. He was active in the Pautler Senior Center and at Sonary Crest Mobile Estates, both in Clarkston.

After retiring he enjoyed traveling, fishing, playing billiards, doing carpentry and bowling.

Survivors in addition to his wife of Clarkston are two sons, William A. Rainville of Springfield, Ore., and Rik G. Rainville of Clarkston; two daughters, Marilyn Z. Moore of Clarkston and Sandra G. Russell of Richland, Wash.; two brothers, Eugene (Frenchie) Rainville of Clarkston and Merrlin Rainville of Apache Junction, Ariz.; one sister, Rosemary Brown of Clarkston; 20 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Three sisters and two brothers died previously.

Burial will be at Vineland Cemetery in Clarkston.
