Anice Elizabeth Stanley Allen, 78, of Fountain Hill, died Thursday, October 2, 2014 at her residence. Mrs. Allen was a native of Ashley County; a resident of Fountain Hill and Hamburg for most of her life and a former resident of Kilbourne, Louisiana. She worked at the Hamburg Shirt Factory for over 40 years and she also worked on the farm and picked cotton.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Nathaniel & Madie T. Slaughter Stanley; a brother, Clancy Stanley and two sisters, Elvie Price and Vera Tollison; four brothers-in-law, Ed Greer, Jack Shockley, Bob Doggett and Willie Price and three nieces, Vicky Greer, Beverly White and Ann Gerrish.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, James “Nubbin” Allen of Hamburg; a daughter, Ann Hollis and husband, Charles; two sons, Phillip Allen, Wayne Allen and wife, Lynda, all of Fountain Hill; a daughter-in- law, Teresa Allen of Hamburg; five sisters, Linda Shockley of Monticello, Evelyn Greer and Violet Doggett both of Midland, Texas, Mary Craig and husband, Jesse “Shorty” and Sherry Jeffers and husband, James, all of Hamburg; a brother-in-law, J.H. Tollison of Midland, Texas; six grandchildren, Jennifer Davidson, James Davidson and wife, Crystal, Brad Allen, Angie Clavet and husband, Buddy, Tiria Allen and Bryan Allen; 14 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services are 2 p.m., Sunday, October 5, 2014 in the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Elvin McDill and Bro. Harold Yandell officiating. Burial will be in the Zion Cemetery. Pallbearers are Stan Craig, Tony Craig, Micky Craig, Jeff Meeks, Bimbo Meeks, Joey Meeks, Ricky Price and Michael Jeffers. Honorary pallbearers are her brothers-in-law
