Mrs. Willie Kent

Mrs. Willie Kent, 84, died August 7, 1991 at Clovis High Plains Hospital.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 19, 1991 in the University Baptist Church with the Rev. Hugh Frazier officiating.

She will lie in state until 9:30 a.m. Saturday. The casket will be closed and not opened after the service.
Burial will be in the Portales Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Duane Cornett, Loyd Tivis, Virgil Tivis, Lavon Hallford, Jimmy Woods, and Ervin Stidham.

Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons. The family will gather at her home at 112 South Indio and lunch will be served at noon Saturday at University Baptist Church.

Mrs. Kent was born October 1, 1906 in Altus, Okla. William H. and Mary Frances Stidham.

She was reared in Anadarko, Okla. and married Roscoe B. Kent on June 12, 1922 in Wellington, Texas.

The couple moved to a farm near the Bethel Community in 1936.

Mr. Kent moved to Portales in 1970 and had been residing at the Retirement Ranch in Cloves for the last 6 mouths.

She is survived by three daughters, Juanete Tivis Wall of Floyd, Arvilla Carley of Lubbock, Texas, and Wanda Stice of Crowley, Texas; three brothers, Alfred and Dell Stidham, both of Cyril, Okla., and Amos Stidham of Arkansas; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roscoe, who died May 7, 1973; her parents; two sons, Troy and R.B. Kent, Jr.; one daughter, Bernice Kent; three brother; and five sister.
