Charles L. Deets, age 82, of Rock Falls, died Thursday, September 25, 2014 at his home.
Charlie was born August 2, 1932 in Emerson, the son of John L. and Bessie B. (Stanley) Deets.
He served in the US Air Force. He married Judith Gann on March 11, 1977 in Sycamore and was employed at Northwestern Steel and Wire as a mobile equipment operator for 30 years retiring in 1997. He was a charter member of Harvest Time Bible Church in Rock Falls. After his retirement, he worked for McDonald Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Kimmel Deets, Curtis (Mary) Deets and Eric (Ashley) Deets; three step children, Byron, Myrna and Allen; two daughters, Connie Deets and Sherri Bock; three sisters, Nellie (Myrl) Stewart, Bessie Perkins and Marian Mangan; 21 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, three sisters, two grandsons and one step son.
Graveside services will be Monday, September 29, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Oak Knoll Memorial Park in Sterling with Pastor Dalmus Meeks of Harvest Time Bible Church officiating.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to Harvest Time Bible Church.
