Her siblings include: Adolph Charles, Marcella Josephine, Alice Amelia, Charlotte Mae, Bertha Marie, Kenneth Maynard, Rolland Euguene, and Charles Bernard. Her mother passed away when she was 4 years old. She married Clair Eugene Kirkwood. The couple had six children.
