Funeral services were held Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Portal Presbyterian Church for Albert Sjue, 62, a retired Portal businessman who died Monday, March 24th. Rev. Bill Corkum officiated. Mrs. Alan Davis was organist and Mrs. Wallace Iverson sang. Interment was in the Portal cemetery with Sorensen Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Larry Baumann, Wallace Iverson, Jerry Stompro, Wayne Clingman, Joe McDonald and Richard McClure.

Born on Nov. 5, 1912 at Palermo, he moved with his parents at the age of six, to Portal and had since lived there. He served in the Army during World War II from 1943 to 1945 and married Mary Pedersen on Nov. 1, 1947 at Minot. They operated the Sjue General Store and the Gateway Cafe for 10 years and for some time operated the Gateway Bar until retiring in January of this year. He was a member of the Portal American Legion, Wood Roan Post No. 109.

Survivors include his wife, three sons, Capt Chris Sjue in the Army at Anchorage, Alaska, and Gordon and Ronald, both of Portal; two grandchildren and two brothers, Gus of West Fargo and Gudmun of Portal.
