Obituary Information for Dr. William P. "Bud" Albritton, Jr. Born August 12, 1940 in Frisco City, AL. Died March 11, 2014 at home in Athens, AL after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. Member of First Baptist Church of Athens, AL. Frequent visitor to Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Curry, AL. Preceded in death by his parents William P. and Currie Albritton; his brother-in-law Dr. Thomas "Spooky" Powe. Survived by his wife, Letty W. Albritton; his sons Scott Albritton (wife Karen) and Nat Albritton; grandchildren Brandon Albritton, Courtney Albritton, Natalie Albritton, Christopher Albritton, and William Albritton; sister Linda Powe and her children; sister Gay Caspers and her husband Johnny Caspers and their children. He obtained degrees in Electrical
Engineering from Auburn University and the University of Tennessee. He received many academic honors. In his long career, he taught Electrical Engineering, was a civil servant for the Air Force, participated on several NATO technical panels, and founded Amtec Corporation serving as its President for over 25 years. In his private time, he enjoyed his family, studying the bible and politics. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Limestone
County, First Baptist Church of Athens, your local church, or a charity of your choosing. Services will be 2PM Friday at First Baptist Church in Athens with Dr. Fred Lackey & Dr. Edwin Jenkins officiating with burial in Roselawn Cemetery, visitation will be 12noon until service at the church.
