Adelbert William (A.W.) Perry, 96, Grandview, Mo. passed away September 27, 2014. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am followed by funeral services at 11:00 am Wednesday, October 1. at First Baptist Church of Grandview, MO. where A.W. was a member, 1416 Main Street, Grandview, MO. Interment will follow in Longview Memorial Gardens. A.W. was born January 9, 1918 in Kansas City, MO to Marvin V. Perry and Charlotte (Schmidt) Perry. He was the owner and operator of A.W. Perry Electric and was a former Alderman for the city of Grandview, MO and was honored as citizen of the year in 2003 and a member of the Tribe of Mic O Say. He was a WWII Veteran serving in the European campaign with United States Army combat engineers. A.W. was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Lyndon Perry. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Inez (Thomas) Perry; children and their spouses, Dwight A. and Connie Perry of Jasper, MO, Adele L and Frank L. Koonce, of Wyomissing, PA, Veita A. Perry, of Grandview, MO; grandchildren, Michele Shepard, Kristina Dumm, Brett Perry, Staci Evans, Nathan Koonce, Melanie Lavigna, Matthew Koonce and twelve great grandchildren.
