Ralph was the son of Willie High Pollard and the late Ralph Pollard Sr. He was a Hickory High School graduate and he served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam . He worked for 19½ years with the Catawba County Sheriff's Office. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Regina Whitson Pollard; a daughter, Stephanie Delp and husband, Michael; two sons, James "Allen" Lingerfelt and wife, Karen, and Paul "Shane" Lingerfelt and wife, Angela; two sisters, Martha Berry and husband, David, and Ellen Towery and husband, Gary; six grandchildren; also other much-loved family members and friends.
