Survivors include his wife, Jessie; one daughter, Verneva Van Winkle; two sons, Troy and Leon Askins, all of Odessa; two sisters, Florence Davis of Missouri and Leola Hester of Arkansas; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Monday in the Pollard Missionary Baptist Church, with Bro. Troy May officiating.
Arrangements and burial in the Haworth Cemetery are under the direction of Coffey-Ruiz Funeral Home.
