Before his illness, Mr. Carlisle was employed by City Service Motor Co. as a trimmer and upholster. He had worked at the Auto Body Shop for 25 years. He was a World War I veteran, having served in France in the Army. He was a member of Congress Street United Methodist Church.
Surviving with his widow are two sons, Charles A. Carlisle of Fort Wayne and Erle H. Carlisle of Chesterton; three daughters, Mrs. Edward Burnett of Rt. 6, Mrs. Eldridge Burton of Templeton and Mrs. Robert D. Johnson of Anderson; 19 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
