Mr. Darland is survived by his daughter, Sue Ryan (Robert Sr.) of Commerce, son, the Rev. Charles M. Darland, III (Suzanne) of Elizabethtown, Kentucky: sister, Patsy Baumiller of West Palm Beach, Florida : grandchjldren, Marsha Grannison, Jesse Darland, Robert Ryan, Jr. Daniel Darland, and Joel Darland. and great-grandchildren, Aurora Darland and James Alexander Darland.
Funeral services: Monday, March 11, at 1 p.m. at Beaverdam Baptist Church with the Revs. Charles M. Darland III, Ray Richardson and Duane Eller officiating. Interment to follow in the church cemetery.
Family to receive friends: Sunday, March 10, from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Note : Mr. Darland enjoyed mentioning the historical fact that he was born on the same day (Saturday) May 21, 1927 that Charles A. Lindbergh landed the "Spirit of St. Louis" in Paris, France after his three thousand six hundred mile non-stop solo flight across the Atlantic Ocean.
The congregation sang two of Mr. Charles' favorite hymns at his service: "To the Work" - by, Fanny J. Crosby and "When we all get to Heaven".
