George was the son of Edward G. and Minnie (Wilhelmina Kenn) Bartholomae and the brother of Frank and Fred. On May 4, 1918 in Chicago, he married Dollie Cordelia Roe. They had two daughters: Eleanor, born in 1919 and Frances born about 1921. After George's death, Dollie remarried to Fritz Lundstrom. She and Fritz are buried in Wisconsin.
