Loved Nantucket, MA (especially in the summer and fall) as well as nature, the love of which she passed on to kids and grandkids.
Referred to as "Gam" by grandkids. She loved fishing on her boat G&G, which she was skippering even at 80. She fished at Great Point. She knew everything about the wildlife she was catching and experiencing. She was a former member of the Nantucket Yacht club.

their infant son, Sherwood Jr.
Survived by two children; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a nephew; and two nieces.
