Darla Mae Scott Wesselman, 79 years of age , of Dateland, AZ passed away in the morning, Friday, September 26, 2014, of complications from an injury. She was surrounded by her loved ones at the Marcus Daly Hospital Hospice in Hamilton, MT. On Dec. 29, 1934 Lloyd E. and Nora Nebeker Scott welcomed Darla Mae and Dee Lloyd Scott to their family. They were the second set of twins born in Annis, ID. Three years later a little sister, Blanche, arrived. In 1949 the Scott family moved to Sandpoint, ID where Darla met William J. (Bill) Wesselman and they were married August 11, 1951. Darla and Bill along with Darla's family returned to southeast Idaho in 1952 where the Wesselman's settled in Idaho Falls and welcomed their first child, Judy Lynn. IN 1955 Darla's parents presented their children with a new baby brother, Lester Lynn Scott. Five months later the Wesselman family welcomed their second daughter, Marcia Rae. A tiny premature baby boy named Kevin William made his early appearance thirteen months later with Wayne Eugene bouncing into their lives two years after that to make their family complete. Darla was a hard worker, a housewife, artist and a talented sales person. She sold Tri-Chem Embroidery paints at home parties and instituted a Tri-Chem Club where people met to share painting techniques and display their finished masterpieces. Darla worked at Bass and Hurley and Bonded Produce sorting potatoes. Even though she worked in potatoes and dirt she never left home without her hair, makeup, jewelry and perfume perfectly done to start the day. Darla's talents really shone through at the Idaho Dept. Store where she excelled at selling beautiful clothing and jewelry. Bill and Darla spent eleven years going south for the winter in their motor home and returning north in the summer to visit family and friends. They spent the last sixteen years residing permanently in Yuma and Dateland, AZ. Darla is survived by her loving husband, Bill, their children, Judy and Brian Davis of Hamilton, MT, Marcia and Reed Mecham of Pingree, ID , Kevin Wesselman of Blackfoot, ID and Wayne and Susan Wesselman of Maui, HI, twenty grandchildren, fifty-six great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews as well as her sister, Blanche Scuderi of Rexburg, ID and L. Lynn and Shari Scott of Annis, ID. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Nora Scott, her twin brother Dee and his wife Shirley Scott, a brother-in –law, James Scuderi and two great granddaughters , Alonna and Rose Davis. Cremation will be provided by Brothers Mortuary and Crematory. A celebration of her life will be held at the Corvallis LDS Church on Saturday, Sept. 27th at 1:00 PM.
