Josephine “Jo” O. Gaylor, 90, of Kokomo, went peacefully home to be with Jesus with her family by her side, 7:15 PM Thursday, September 25, 2014, at her residence. She was born February 8, 1924, in Kokomo, to Emmer Charles Armstrong and Carrie Opal (Rogers) Armstrong. On May 7, 1942 in Ft. Wayne, she married Paul L. Gaylor. He preceded her in death August 24, 2007. She graduated from Burlington High School in 1942. She retired from Delco Electronics. She was a member of Radiant Life Ministries in Kokomo, and was a devout supporter of Revival for Our Day. Jo supported many people with prayer, and her gift of prayer will be missed. She was known by many in her church circle as “Aunt Jo”.
She is survived by a son, James F. and wife Linda Gaylor of Kokomo; daughter in law, Mrs. Gary Gaylor (Sherry) of Russiaville; daughter, Pauletta J. Gaylor of Bloomington; son, Mark and wife Patricia Gaylor of Camden; son, Jeff Gaylor and companion Tammy Cain of Burlington; sister, Nita Mullen of Carmel; sister, Mary Schowalter of Marion; sister, Betty Lee of Frankfort; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son Gary Gaylor, and three brothers, Earl, Robert, and Russell Armstrong.
The family would like to thank everyone who have given Jo support and care, and a special thank you to Betty Little and St. Joseph Hospice.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel, 3400 S. Webster Street, with Rev. Matt Gaylor officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery in Forest, Indiana. Friends may visit with the family from 4-8 PM Monday at the mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to the Revival for Our Day. Envelopes will be provided at the mortuary.
