Son of James Smith and Mary (Locke) Smith-Lloyd-Ake, brother of Evelyn (Smith) Davids, nephew of Mabel (Locke)Feldman Smith Fangman, Betty (Locke) Baechle-Neal, Edith (Locke) Williams. James and his older sister, Evelyn, contracted measles at the same time and Evelyn survived with no problems but James died from spinal meningitis, complications caused by the measles. "He was five when he died, a beautiful kid with blonde hair and blue eyes" as Evelyn described her brother to me.
