McCARTHY, Charles F. Jr.
Age 81, of Catalpa Dr., Horseheads, and formerly a longtime resident of Long Island, NY, passed away after a brief illness Tuesday, July 29, 2008. He was born March 6, 1927 in NYC, NY, the son of the late Charles and Kathleen (Boland) McCarthy Sr. Mr. McCarthy was a retired pressroom operator with the NY Times and served in the Merchant Marines during WWII. His was predeceased by his wife, Lillian in 1999; and is survived by his sons, William McCarthy of Cave Creek, AZ, Charles McCarthy of Palm Bay, FL, and Michael McCarthy of Horseheads, NY; grandchildren, Quinn and Lindsay McCarthy; and sister, Ilene Vacarra of California. Family and friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home, 413 So. Main St., Horseheads, Today, Wednesday, July 30, 2008, from 6-8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Mary Our Mother Church, 816 W. Broad St., Horseheads, on Thursday, July 31, at 9:00 a.m. The Rev. Christopher E. Linsler, Celebrant. Interment in St. Mary Our Mother Cemetery.
