Cowee, 60, prominent rancher in this district for many years, died late yesterday in the Oroville hospital following an illness of several weeks.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Gridley United Brethren church with Rev. E.W. Dettweiler presiding. Interment will be in Biggs-Gridley cemetery under the auspices of the Block Funeral Home.
Cowee is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ada M. Cowee and mother Mrs. Kizzie Wunder; three daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Russel of Yuba City, Mrs. Orion Fenton of Oroville and Mrs. Uarda Cowee of Gridley; four sons, Merrel, Clyde, Herman and Robert, Gridley ranchers; a brother, T.A. Cowee of Sacramento and two sisters, Mrs. Ida Young of Los Angeles and Mrs. Kinter of Okla.
