"Little Nonnie".

Number 9 of 12 known children born to Giorgio Capaci and Anna Moscarello, in Piana dei Greci (Piana Degli Albanese), Sicily. The only surviving son to carry on the Capaci name. Came to America in 1892, thru the Port Of New Orleans. Worked for 6 long years on the sugar cane plantations, as well as in the citrus groves, until he made enough money to send for his wife and his two children in 1898. His wife, Giovanna, 'Jennie', his son Giorgio, and his daughter, Anna, finally joined him there and eventually moved on to Los Angeles, CA. by 1902.

Husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather, he lived to see 4 generations of his descendants. He loved to sing and dance. He was a sheer delight.

My great-great-grandfather.

I have great admiration and gratitude for this man, for having the courage and the fortitude, for wanting a better life in America, not just for himself and his wife and children, but for his grandchildren, his great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and on. He sacrificed so very much to give us the best. Mille Grazie Little Nonnie.
