Theodore T. (Jen) Polley, union leader here, died Saturday afternoon of a heart attack while hunting on the farm of his brother, Noble Polley, Gosport, R. 2. He has been suffering from a heart ailment.

Polley was president and business representative of the International Hod Carriers local 741 for 18 years, and secretary of the Building and Construction Trades Council in Bloomington and Columbus.

He was a veteran of World War I, was a member of the Eagles lodge and the VFW.

He was a native of Monroe County, the son of James M. and Elizabeth (Haddon) Polley.

Survivors are his wife, Lillian; a son, Jennings, 2301 N. Dunn; a daughter, Marie, at home; two other brothers, Joseph of Palmyra, Mich., and James of Unionville; and four sisters, Nancy Spears and Elizabeth Parks, both of Berkeley, Calif.; Margaret Parenti of Albuquerque, N. Mex., and Mary Polley of Indio, Calif. Three grandchildren also survive.

Funeral is set for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Day Funeral Home, with burial at Clear Creek. Rev. W. C. Chafin will officiate and music will be furnished by a trio, Judy Richey, Becky and June Hughes, and Norma Shields, accompanist.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dustin McDonald, John Norkus, Roy Stringer, Rodney Douglas, Leon Chitwood and Charles O'Neal.

Active pallbearers will be George Davis, Wilbur Semon, Clovis McGuire, Elmer Fehl, Phillip Drake and James Deal[.] Flowerbearers will be Glenna Beck, Constance Nikirk, Shirley Green, Sarah VanEtten, Linda and Sarah Polley.

Members of the VFW will conduct military rites at the interment.

The body remains at Day Funeral Home where friends may call.
