Mr. Duguid was raised in a religious home as a Reformed Presbyterian. For several years, he has given his held loyally, to the Methodist Episcopal Church at Fremont, in which the entire family found opportunity for service and of which they have been valued members.

For many years, Mr. Duguid has been prominent in two communities. After successful years in Ray he moved to Fremont in 1900, having since then been interested in several mercantile enterprises. At the time of his death he has a large interest in the Fremont Coal & Lumber Company.
