Overcoming its crippling effects, she devoted the rest of her life to serving her Lord Jesus, first for 15 years with Young Life's ministry to teens before moving to Washington, DC, where she taught Bible studies and worked with the prayer breakfast fellowship for the next 46 years. Barbara was beloved by countless family, friends and associates.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, August 27 at 11 a.m. at National Presbyterian Church, 4101 Nebraska Ave., NW. Memorial gifts may be made to Project Mercy Inc., 7011 Ardmore Ave., Fort Wayne IN 46809 or to the Young Life Foundation, 420 N. Cascade Ave., Colorado Springs CO 80903 (designate "Capernaum Camperships for Kids with Disabilities")
