Married 8/4/1831 in Bastrop, Bastrop County, Texas to Jane Boyd Wells/Woods. They had seven known children.
Norman B. Woods was born in Troy, Missouri on October 13, 1805.
He was the 3rd child of 6 born to Minerva Cottle & Zadock Woods.
He was raised in Troy, Missouri. Attended the St. Charles Academy from 1823 until 1826. Norman came to Texas in 1826 to live with his parents and siblings in what is now Fayette County.
Married Jane Boyd Wells in Bastrop, TX on August 4, 1831. They were the parents of 5 children, only 3 living to adulthood.
Norman took part in a battle with Waco Indians (site of what is now La Grange,TX) in August, 1829.
1841 found Norman with Stephen Austin & James C. Lester in Fayette County at the 4th and 5th session of the CONGRESS OF THE REPUBLIC OF TEXAS.
He was captured at the DAWSON MASSACRE after being wounded and taken to Perote Prison in Mexico.
Norman died at that prison on December 16,1843 and was interred in a mass grave by Salado Creek. Six (6) years later, his body was returned home for burial.
Norman's last request was honored by his brother HENRY GONZALVO WOODS, who married Norman's widow,Jane, on October 30, 1844.
