Richard L. Perry, age 79, of Battle Creek, passed away Friday, September 19, 2014 at the Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice Residence. He was born May 14, 1935 in Battle Creek, Michigan the son of George and Elizabeth (Greenman) Perry. He was a member of the 1952 Class B State Championship Football Team and 1953 graduate of Lakeview High School. Mr. Perry retired from the Kellogg Company as a Millwright in 1991 after 31 years of service. He was a member of the Cornerstone Community Church, enjoyed watching his grandkids play sports and loved to visit the Soo Locks every fall.

Surviving are his children: Richard (Tina) Perry of Battle Creek, Lori (Gene) Sorgi of Springport and Eric (Kari) Perry of Hastings; step-children, Tom (Melody) Marick, Linda Marick, Cathy (Dan) Piper, Dave (Jennifer) Marick and Bill Marick; 18 grandchildren: Hunter, Rikki, Bayleigh, Peyton, Annalee, Brychan, Ashlee, Ericka, Jana, Derick, Hannah, Jakob, Jon, Ana, Christian, Isaac, Lydia and Levi; two great-grandsons: Brixton and Cashton, soon to be great-grandson #3 on the way; step grandchildren, Cameron, Caleb, Cara, Olivia and Allison. He was preceded in death by his parents; second wife, Carol Ann Perry and daughter-in-law, Dana Perry.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be given to the Charitable Union. www.henryfuneralhome.org
