Lena Newman Dies Sunday
Lena B. Newman, 78, of this city passed away Sunday at Harris Methodist Glen Rose Hospital.
Funeral was conducted Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Martin's Chapel here with the Rev. Bill Schibler of Cleburne officiating. Burial was made in Post Oak Cemetery.
Born in Palestine on Christmas Day, 1910, she was a daughter of James A. and Nannie Campbell McCool. She was married to E. T. (Big Boy) Newman on Nov. 30, 1966, at Granbury.
Mrs. Newman had lived in Glen Rose some 22 years and was a nurse's aide and a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband of the home; one son, Billy Nix Jr. of Athens; three brothers, Clifton and Jessie Paul McCool, both of Athens and A.C. McCool of St. Joseph, Mo.; 10 grandchildren, and a number of Great-grandchildren.
Martin's Funeral Home of Glen Rose was in charge of arrangements.
